SSR GTV02s 17x9 et 45. Taking it to the streets and off to the course!
Hey!... And welcome to #modmonday . Featuring the @SSRwheels GTV02s 17x9 45 offset that reside on my STi. They were installed almost 4 years ago and have been trouble free since day one.
Choosing wheels is one of the toughest decisions a car person will make. While trying to balance style, weight and the proper fitment... it can be a real life nightmare. It almost seems there are as many wheels out there as car people... So sifting through the endless sea of choices can be maddening.
I have a few preferred wheel brands that I was going through before deciding on these SSR's. I have long been a fan of the wheels since their Comp C wheels.. which was what I was hard pressed to find but with my very specific size needs, I just couldn't make it happen.
The GTV02s come with a very traditional design that is light but quite strong. You can tell a lot of about the quality of the wheel when balancing these... I have never placed more than 1.50 oz of weight in one location. Which shows just how true they are.
In this current size of 17x9 they weigh in at 18.4 which isn't the lightest of the bunch but still fits the bill. The color is SSR's Phantom Silver which is a matte style finish but can surprise you in differing light. Very easy to clean with small spokes and wide openings and the unique color gives the illusion of just being darker when dirty.
For GD chassis Subaru owner's this offset is perfect for coilovered cars that want a wide tire but not excessive camber. You can easily run a 255/40 on this wheel without rolling/pulling fenders. Filling the fender well and giving it a very aggressive look.
I look forward to keeping them rolling down the road for many years to come. Maybe they will see a color change to a nice deep blue.. Time will tell.
