My first Company23 part was their amazing tmic studs which replace the factory bolts that hold the bypass valve to the tmic. Given the tmic is made from aluminum it is pretty easy to accidentally damage the threads but putting a tad bit of extra torque into these bolts. This is an ingenious design to save you from replacing/repairing a tmic after a small mistake. Full write up on these here.
With my first headgasket job up next on my list of projects I decided it was time to invest in the single acvs cam holder tools. After reading the horror stories of the fabled cam bolts I knew I needed to be as prepared as possible when dealing with the bolts rather than struggling on for days. Alongside that you will find nothing is quite as much of a helping hand as the Company23 Acvs cam lock tool, this frustrating job is now a simple ordeal. These are tools as a Subaru technician that I use every week and are actually found within our Subaru oem training centers, that shows you how much they trust Company23’s products. From my full use of these during my cam bolt removal diy click here.
The next tools I found extremely useful are the crank pulley holder alongside their crank pulley socket. Every Ej will need a timing belt and one of the big steps is breaking that crank bolt free. With the crank pulley holder you can adapt it from either crank damper design making your job that much simpler. Once you have the crank damper removed your next goal is to find top dead center on the motor and rather than waste your time putting the crank pulley bolt back in just use their notched crank socket that allows you to line everything right up to ready yourself for the rest of the task. For more timing belt related uses here are the links to either dohc or sohc.
Those are a few of my tools I have had for a few years that have made things so much easier within my work and at home working on cars. Since then they have recently added a few more tools to their wonderful catalogue. I assume most of you like me have a 5 or 6 speed Subaru and so this tool goes out to all you DIY clutch replacement folks, the Flywheel locker! Bolting into the starter holes it has teeth that mesh into the factory flywheel and make installation or removal a breeze. And while you are in there with your clutch replacement why not take care of that pesky rear main seal with the Company23 rear main installation tool. Without the factory tool these have always been a bother to me but this tool seems like it even bests the factory tool. You can easily draw in the four bolts to get that rear main seal installed each time and every time.
Without these tools and parts my Subaru life would be a lot less simple. Thanks to Company23 we can all waste less time on tasks that are necessary but we all know we’d much rather be out driving our Subaru instead of working on it.
